Apologies if this has been covered already, can anyone tell me what the battery drain is like on this? I will be pairing with TE Zero Blue.

Thank you.

Battery drain depends on your phone's battery capacity and VBUS conversion efficiency, so there's no straightforward answer.

During playback, the JM20 draws about 60mA:

These values were measured at 300Ω, but nothing changes when using low impedance IEMs.

On Android, you can use Ampere to estimate total system current draw.

In my case, current draw went from 580mA when playing through the phone speakers but with volume at zero, to 700mA when playing through the JM20 with volume turned up a bit:

This means total playback duration was reduced by appr. 17%

Or in other words, if the battery drained by 10% per hour before, then it would now drain by 12%.

What a fantastic and helpful reply. Thank you for your time and effort.

is there a firmware for jcally jm30/cs43131? mine needs dc/reconnecting it several times before it works. i just got it this way

Can i pair this jm20 with external amp? Route would looks that: PC - JM20 - amp TPA6120A - fidelio x2hr (30ohm)

PC volume should be on 100% and tuned for my needs on ext amp?
You can set volume to 100%, or reduce it if that makes volume control on your external amp more convenient.

The JM20's low noise floor means that you can attenuate the signal without losing anything.

JM20-Pro is 'Walk Play' compatible, but the DAC filters, Class H/AB, and gain modes are not exposed in the app.
Has a firmware update been released that adds the ability to switch filters? It is a very useful and effective feature of CS43131, imo.

JCAlly doesn't even have its own webpage, I wouldn't count on any firmware updates.

Thx, Google was unable to find it when I tried, even with plenty -forum and -shop and such. Out of curiosity I tried with ChatGPT and it also failed even when specifying Chinese page and so on. Then checked DuckDuckGo and it just displayed it as first the result for "JCally web page". Google finally displayed it with "china" added so "JCAlly China home page" (but remove home and it won't...). Internet corporations are scary.

I would recommend using grok.com for our topics. ChatGPT is seemingly unaware of our ocd rabbit hole :), while Grok delivers. Makes some mistakes of course but overall everything is nicely summarized and on point.

www.jcally.com

And they do refuse to provide FWs. At least that's what an Aliexpress seller said after he allegedly contacted JCally at my request.

I was referring to TTGK updates through Walk Play or TTGK Station.
the vanilla JM20, just like the JM20 Max, cannot be managed via Walkplay since they don't use a TTGK chipset as usb-bridge but a Savitech one.
JM20 Pro is the one using TTGK chipset.

That's absolutely correct. @CedarX was talking about JM20-Pro, hence my question... :)

Btw, JCally JM20 Pro is currently on sale (under $20), but

BUYERS BEWARE

I ordered the JCally JM20 Pro on Aliexpress for $27 from the Sailboat 3C store.

It was a rip-off.

What I received was a JCally JM12 which is 1/3 the price. Followed by weeks of poor and uncooperative messaging by the seller. Rather than honor the buyer protection policy I got the "run around".

The seller claimed, without proof, that I provided the wrong address to my home ( ! ) Asked for photos of the item and the packaging it arrived in. That the package was waiting at the Post office (I went there but there was no record of any package from the seller) and all I had to do was sign for it. Then later claimed that I received the item even though I already complained that I was sent the wrong item and sent photographic evidence.

I have requested a refund or to be sent the item that I had ordered and paid for but the seller has not responded to these requests.
