MA9100HP and MA7100HP - low noise Class D amplification for real world power to all channels: Data Sheet
MA9100HP and MA7100HP
There is another thread about this too, posted after this one;Thread relocated here. Happy Sunday everyone…
I think we need to wait and see what real street prices end up as...pretty much £2,000 for the top line model.. let's say £1,500 for the 2nd to the top
kinda expensive given what the rear connects look like and the remote looks like nothing BUT i expect everything can be done with an app and maybe thru a web interface
i guess we are spoilt by what the japanese offer for the same money
Given they are in the same market segment as Denon price wise - who also don't include Dirac...Another boutique product (high quality and price, low feature set) that won't put a dent in mainstream AVR pricing, unfortunately! Not having pre-outs should have kept costs down but JBL is maximizing profits! No one's mentioned this but the models that support Dirac still require a paid license:
"*MA7100HP and MA9100HP models only. Purchase a license to activate Dirac Live at www.dirac.com/online-store/"
I keep waiting for the day for Class D to be widely accepted and I can't believe we're still not there yet!
0.5% is 46 SINAD I think. That's terrible and audible!Seems to be power supply limited. Not producing twice as much power into 4 ohms as 8 ohms. Also, power is spec'd 2 channels at 0.5% THD. I'm guessing they're capable of maybe half the rated power all channels driven.
I'm sure it's to keep the weight down. An ideal Class D AVR shouldn't weigh anywhere close to a typical AB receiver!One interesting thing on these, is they are fitted with a switching power supply... no massive transformer...
Thank you..Merged here.There is another thread about this too, posted after this one;

Hi Folks, Came across this out of the UK... no sign of it elsewhere yet... https://www.improducts.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/HUD0224_011_-JBL_MA_Series_AVR_-Specsheet_EN.pdf AVR's ranging from 5.2 to 9.2, with Class D amps of up to 140W@8ohm, and Dirac in the top models. Looks like JBL...www.audiosciencereview.com
