JBL A130, KEF Q 150 or Q Acoustics 3020?

Hello. Sorry to barge in, but I have to clarify. As this is ASR, and based on measurements only and the opinion of Amir, The A130 are not far far far far off audiophile territory. I've owned the Pioneer B22 and the KEF Q150. I much rather prefer the A130.

But yes, they're far away to pricier options, but in the correct small room, they sound better to my ears. I've used more expensive speakers on my room like the Revel F35, but the A130 are not so far, specially if you're using two subwoofers.

I bought the A130 based on Amir's review and I haven't regret it. Just my opinion.
I understood your point.

I chose BS22 when I read about the 2 different measurement made by Erin and Amir.

It's nice when you have option to compare like your case, but we have to admit that the price point normally suggest better components used to make the speakers.

You liked more A130 than BS22?

I received BS22 4 days ago and I liked so much, the sound is very honest and a good bass for a 4" driver.

I will use these speaker on a vacation home.

Hi

I am a big fan of active speakers... I have active in my systems JBL; 3 x LSR-308 and 4 x LSR-305. Loove these but ../
in my area there is no service center for these. They fail.. It is much better to purchase a new pair...
I have heard the Kef Q150,, It is a very good speaker, close in tonality to the LS-50. You get these, then later add subwoofers and ways to integrate subs + mains. I hasten to say that requires, hardware, software, research, lost of frustration and.. you can be in heaven for a few years...
IDK anything about the Ascend.

Peace.

Yes, I like it better. The 4" driver is really small for low bass on that enclosure. You can see Amir's distortion tests at 86db and the poor speaker distort like crazy. Not so with the JBL A130. With the Pioneers, I have to crossover my sub at 100Hz, not so high with the A130.

Anyway, I'm now making a huge effort to buy an open box Revel F35 pair. It just sound much better on my room. No contest.
