Hi
As stated above given a room of about 25sqm
What would be the benefit of say powering up a 4367 with the finest there is amp wise and using a 4329p in the same room at moderate / civilised spl
What’s there to gain ?
Thanks I advance

Here's the data:

The 4329P has better bass extension, smoother off-axis response, and less HF distortion.

In contrast, the 4367 has less LF distortion and drastically higher SPL capabilities.

Thanks staticv3 , so in essence not a major departure if you switched to a 4367 .. I listen on the quieter side ( mainly late night )
I really like my 4329 … I’m up for a new pair of something for another system and was wondering where to next … something of a departure from the 4329 , retains the strength but really pushes the boundaries in every aspect … any pointers so I can try to listen
?

For late night listening, the decreased bass extension and worse directivity of the 4367 should be audible downgrades.

That's too vague for me, sorry.

True , it’s vague … must be the music , one thing I sometimes miss is “ taller “ images
Like I had on an old pair of avantgarde duo a decade plus ago , or a pair of really tall Magnepan 3.6
It had a certain magnifying lens quality to it where everything felt more towering
Never got that from a 4329 , not a deal breaker considering all the plus the jbl has ( ease of enjoyment , bass , perceived balance , convenience , form factor )

I generally agree with @staticV3 but I’d opine that the point about bass extension is a wash, because I’ve mostly seen the 4367 measure down to 20hz in a room. The HF distortion of the compression driver is, of course, inaudible. I think the 4329 is a great loudspeaker, but under my personal evaluation criteria, I’d consider the wide baffled 4367 that will play as loud as you could ever need it to, to be a definite upgrade

You basically lose on axes with active and you can gain the same on pasive + really quiet amplifier. Actually I like pasive one better for much better mid bass capacity (or lower THD if you wish). They even don't need ultra clean amplifier with rated 96 dB (94 really)/W. However keep in mind it will need a good strong amplifier even it doesn't fall under 5.7 Ohms 70 Hz crossings/phase angle looks so.

Not sarcastic, but if you want a taller image, couldn't the speakers be raised off the floor a bit? One review I read, had them on (I think) 10 - 12" stands or maybe more...
Or angled upwards.

Was told not to make any difference , my custom stand won’t allow that easily , I shall give it a try
why would angling it upward makes the speaker sound “ taller “ ?

From reflections, but there's also the chance it might actually make things sound worse than before. Still, it's worth trying out.

I have my 4329p on 18" stands I had. Never tried to tilt them but they sound better to me at 18" then 15" where I first had them. I needed to play around with the height for my seated level. As always YMMV. I think the recommended stands are the same as for the JBL L82.
JS-80 are 18" with a 7° tilt.
