Distortion has been classically high in this series and the 306P carries the family signature:

These were my first powered speakers. I got them and used them for a bit, but then got curious and moved on to a couple other models, lastly the KEF LSX, which disappointed the heck out of me. I've just reinstalled these, and kick myself for ever trying to "upgrade."

My colleague and I listened to a pair of Genelecs 8341 (or was that 8351?) at around 70dB SPL at a pro audio store. Afterwards we both agreed we still preferred my 305P at our office. We talking about something like a 2300% price differential here.

If the room is such a dominating influence then it even makes less sense to spend so much on expensive speakers.

Should I get the 306P MKII over the Kali LP-6 V2 for everyday music listening? I plan to pair them with a Rythmik L12. The JBLs are $150 cheaper here. Although price isn’t an issue, are the Kalis worth the extra money?

JBL has better waveguide and better port

Kali has better drivers and Boundary EQ DIP switches

If you want to play loud and/or have no way of applying DSP to your system, then the extra $150 for the Kali may well be worth it.

Otherwise, I'd stick to the JBL.

lp6v2 are cheaper 50 dollars less here in Croatia... where yre you from and why such a disproportion in price.

Just got these in today 250 new for a pair.. I LOVED the JBL but HATED the noise..

My systems have been plagued with noises and a few days they all just disappeared , don't know how..but they are gone for now.. I also got a Fosi ZD3 on the way too.

I also have a pair of Kali Audio IN-8v2's. I can tell the difference.

JBL 305 vs 306s..it's too long to tell but I think the 305s are a tad bit warmer. I am VERY happy with the 306s, they were just that tiny bit I was missing. The feel full body, warm, so relaxing and the bass is a treat on these. I enjoy the bass much more on these than the Kali's. I can push these loaders with no twitter fatigue or sibilance.

I would have went for the 308s since they were even cheaper BUT I heard they were more neutral. Everything is just so inviting sounding on these.

But you can tell the Kali's are more high end sound. I don't expect the normal person to maybe see it but the JBLS don't have that forward projection the Kali's have, and the way the sound is presented is what I would expect "HI-fi" to sound on the Kalis.

I just love the 306s...now maybe I should have got the 308s but where will I put all these lol!!!
