I just go these yesterday.. Waiting for my DAC so I have XLR to RCA. Tested on Kali and work great, swapped cables and worked great.

Did my brand new 306pii just kill itself? It has very low low volume. At level 10 it's like level 1 volume.

Damnit I'm so pissed...I don't even know if I can get a refund now.. or get the same great price..

I swear, not a single thing ever goes right for me.

Well I did the usual.. unplug everything and wait.. and it worked...

still not sure if this is going to be a future problem or just chalk it it up to something weird.

and I'm digging monitors being farther apart...with my new room setup I have the 306p's at 8 feet apart from each other and I love them.
More than enough bass for me. The amp is also much quieter than my 305s.. Right now I'm about 4 feet away and with my 305s I could still hear the hiss, with the 306s they aren't there at that distance.

I'm about to bring it back to the hippie days and this weekend do a wall of sound.See how the Kalis and JBL do next to each other or one above the other. And also I want to see JBL 306 as just the center channel too...

If your Kali were working, why change? Also you didn't mention how you were feeding them waiting on your DAC. You do realize that both the Kali and JBL were more than likely over seen by the same person, right?

?

I was testing out the cables to see if it was a problem with the cables or narrow it down.

I want both brands due to them sounding different.

The design team (and leadership) for Kali worked at JBL before they started Kali. My question was as to what your signal chain is while you're waiting on your DAC?

Ahhh ok sorry!!

JBL:
I had a XLR to RCA cable -> RCA to 3.5mm cable that connected to my macbook or phone.

Kali:
RCA Cables -> rca to 3.5mm cable to Monitor. Computer is too noise. ALso tried a optical converter box on pc and monitor which made it worse. I also used the XLR cables that I had on the the JBL on this setup and noise was much worse.

DAC will be for PC and I'll be running XLR TO XLR on that setup.

As far as JBLS go, they work great now...unplugging everything seemed to fix the volume problem.THey have their little amp noise but they are at a distance that it doesn't bother me so I probably won't be getting any additional addons like a DAC for this.
