Just posted this in the vocal section but maybe here is where the post truly belongs;
And last but not least ...... the last CD I have heard 1000 times and more is the one mic recording, Carmen Gomes, from the small but fine dutch label Sound Liaison. Recorded using just one microphone (Josephson C700S), the recordings only allow small combos that can be placed in a circle around the mic. No mixing after the recording is possible any longer. With Great results!!

Carmen Gomes' voice is hot, hot, hot!!!!!!

SOUND LIAISON: EMBRACE ME
The label has just released another fine album with Blue Note recording star Denise Jannah adding her voice to 4 of the 6 tracks.
Marvelous musicianship all through the album. And again superbly well recorded by master engineer Frans de Rond, and recommended by Don Sebesky;
"There’s a lot of quality musicianship on this recording; it’s very clear. So very rare to hear a group of young people pick up on the vibes (of these standards) and be true to the music. God bless you…...Keep doin what you’re doin.”
- Don Sebesky

Needed to break away in the midst of Covid 19, found a great escape...

Michel Petrucciani, Power of Three - outstanding live recording with Michel, Jim Hall and Wayne Shorter

So great to drift away for almost an hour! Stay safe everyone.

Everything here is pretty old. Not a slam for I own and enjoy many of them. But come on, I wanna hear suggestions of jazz records from the last decade (2011 to now). Please no slow, languid snoozers, or 'free' vacuous stuff.

French alps.
Be careful with volume, keep it VERY moderate approaching 0:45, piano keystrokes can be piercing.

I'm currently using this track (from a CD, not from youtuve) to test recent purchases, a DT1990 Pro headphone and ER2SE IEM compared to a few other headphones. The DT1990 Pro and the ER2SE are the only ones to pass the treble test without distorsion/rattling noises/graininess at the highest "tolerable" volume (makes me cringe though). Worst : Sennheiser HD58X followed buy HD6XX.
