I have never bought loudspeakers, I always built them myself. Infinitely more bang (and lots of other sounds too) for the buck.

Same here. Not exactly about the money, more because I like the hobby. If I just had to buy speakers (!), I guess Revel Saon2s or JBL K2 9900 or JBl 4367s.

Does anyone remember a Danish or Northern European or maybe English manufacturer making a stand mount all gloss back monitor about 12” tall, maybe 18-20 inch wide and wider than deep or in height / front ported -2way? Just curious??
I had a set I purchased in about 2006/2008 and cannot remember their name??? The company I don’t think lasted long…
