If I had 10k to spend on audio I would consider a pair of Genelec, but then I'd remember that they are butt ugly (yeah that's what they look like) and instead build myself a pair of floor to celling line arrays and a few subs.
Audition them IN your room so when buying them make sure you have the option to return them.
In your specific room another speaker may just perform 'better'.
You won't know till you tried it IN your room.
Speakers are not like electronics (as in flat measured FR in ideal circumstances + preferable directivity) and measurements of transducers are a bit more indicative than one may expect.
It might be settled for you but your choice may not be what others would pick for various reasons. It certainly is one of the best speakers around for studio usage.
In a quiet environment, you may hear the self noise (or "hiss" noise) of the 8361 from a distance of one meter. This noise is quite noticeable compared to the smaller models in the The Ones series, and those sensitive to such noise might find it problematic.
However, since this speaker is not designed to be used at such close distances, this should not be a significant issue. I mentioned this to illustrate that different speakers may be more suitable for different listening environments.
True. But for 99% of ASR forum subscribers, the 8361A is their wet dream and will satisfy most wants. Let's just stop pretending there are better alternatives. It's a disservice and fraud to pretend otherwise.
Do you find it egregious that people that raised themselves above the common fold have desires and ambitions that you, poor soul, have never thought of or sought out?

According to this article (which I find reasonable) you are arbitrarily in search of the "best" as an abdication of the responsibility of choice. That makes sense; it would explain why you have come here. If it was really true that you had "raised yourself above the common fold", you would not treat with us; you would trust your own judgement, and not use us in this manner.
I had the 8361 on test for over a month.
Background noise in my environment around 30dBA which is far from a high value in a home.
No noise, no "measurable" disturbance even just one meter away.
P.S. In the Adam Audios I'm using you can't hear any noise even with your ear close to the speakers.
Best is not the same for everyone. Best is not the same in all rooms or set-ups.
I have heard many speakers that did NOT measure fantastic, but had this "something" that made them in some ways MORE appealing to me on a lot of music.
There are so many variables with room, tastes and hearing that a perfect measuring speaker while a goal in one way, can often not be what appeals to all people.
