It is deliberately falsifying an artwork, regardless of what it may or may not be called.
Happened to some books in recent years, at least in Germany, "prior art" in the 30s, no, even earlier- by Inquisition...
The outcome wasn't good. Ever. At least today they don't burn the author too, though some would if they could. "Just" falsify or "cancel".
Until the cancelled fight back and cancel them, closing the circle of insanity...
