It is now possible to stream LDAC from Windows without VM, dongle, or other shenanigans.

A Virtual Linux machine on a Windows host also does the job but the licence is cheap enough and the person behind it really nailed it, also added AptX codecs. With the latest version I have zero complains (also changed my Wi-fi router which I think deters the LDAC performance)

My Fujitsu S936 Laptop (built in Bluetooth 4.2) did only support SBC according the "Bluetooth Tweaker", so I tried the "Alternate A2DP Driver" (https://www.bluetoothgoodies.com/a2dp/).
Installation and handling is absolutely straight forward - I'm usually a bit shy to replace device drivers, but the process to activate the driver and to return to the Microsoft driver is nicely built into the GUI of this App, so this is no issue at all.

I used 2 instances of the REW:
- one instance to feed the SMSL D6s either via LDAC 96kS/s, 24bit, High-Quality or via USB
- the other instance to receive the audio with an RME Fireface UC
The D6s output and the FFUC input were connected with a symmetric XLR -> TRS cable.
The distance between Laptop and D6s was ca. 4m.

Multitone was 1/3 Octave between 10Hz and 40kHz, Generator level was adjusted to stay a few dB below clipping.
In a 2nd set of measurements I reduced the generator level in the REW by 30dB (accidentally by 40dB for the USB source so do not wonder about the level).
(For some reason I have not figured out, I had do reduce the volume by a few dB at the D6s volume control when playing via USB compared to LDAC)

The results are indeed more than encouraging - I can fully confirm the good results earlier in this thread. There is something "fuzzy" going on at 20kHz and beyond, but I don't really worry; around 20kHz we're talking about ca. 80dB below the neighboring tones,

--> No doubt, this driver is a great solution when you want to use a Bluetooth connection under w10. And LDAC is a great BT connection.

I appologize if this is old news, but I just stumbled across it. There is a bit of software called Alternative A2DP Driver that lets Windwoes transmit LDAC (or other codecs) directly. This assumes, of course, that the computer already has bluetooth capability.
The software lives here: https://www.bluetoothgoodies.com/a2dp/
It is not free. The cost is around $5 for the first computer (perpetual license) and $2 for additional computers. Free to try for a week, though.
The software is more than just a driver. It allows selection of codecs, bit rates, and other tweaks that I have yet to explore.
I am running it right now with a laptop computer streaming to an smsl C200, with nothing but air in between. No hacking was required. I just followed the instructions and it worked as advertised. That just doesn't seem right, does it?
Happy listenings.

Hey can i set it up to stream LDAC from pc to 2 separate bt iems?

As far as I know, BT is a point-to-point connection (i.e. not point-to- multipoint). Please correct me if I'm wrong, though.
I've no idea however how the BT "buds" do manage to obviously maintain a point-to-2point connection ....

I'm using the Alternative A2DP driver too. I'm very happy with the LDAC performance - no need to plug a USB cable into the laptop, At 24 bit, HQ the sound is just fantastic.

Did you install a driver for the Max5C?

The other thing you need to be aware of when using Alternative A2DP Driver with a headset (i.e. headphones with a mic) are the limitations...

Hello I check that message through the faq of the site.

But I can not find out what is going on.

There is any driver form Max5C, and the same happens with my Linkbuds S.

I open windows Bluetooth, I pair the devices and when I open A2DP I get this error.

In device manager I see the devices:

I have updated every driver but windows said that everything is up to date. Running on Win 10. So confusing, I can not find out what's wrong

You could try uninstalling the Intel Bluetooth drivers and re-installing... https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000087250/wireless.html

I thought the driver version for your Max5C's looked very old, but I just checked my 1MORE SonoFlow and it's of a similar vintage (and i'm running a Windows 11 Insider build!)...

I think the device driver version is tied to the MS Bluetooth Enumerator version...

My Intel Bluetooth drivers are much newer...

my Intel version is new too:
I also check to view hidden files but, I do not know what is going on or why face this issue. All the other drivers are of 2024 except as yours the Emulator one

I've notice that the Intel's Buttons for Update/Roll Back/Disable/Uninstall have grayed out.

Hello again I uninstall the Inter Bluetooth.

Then restart and after that I update to the latest driver version.

The Bluetooth driver dsp server removed.

But I still face the same issue when run the A2DP.

Is the Ear Trumpet has to do with the A2DP or that I run the Ugreen app on my phone or is the Peace/APO that I have the EQ for the headphone? I do not think so but I am not sure.

Is too confused and strange that is not working as I would like too test the A2DP.

Does any have any ideas? Am I the only one who face this issue?

I uninstall and try to reinstall the A2DP and I get this message again before install run.

I close the Bluetooth and the install run successfully. When I open the app there is no device to show.

Then when I turn on the Bluetooth on windows and The Ugreen are connected as my wireless mouse then in the app the headphones appear with the classic error message.

I am out of any more ideas and I think I will stop.

Also when I check the installed intel Bluetooth should I keep both of them:
