My goal is not recording or mixing / producing music, but a high count of multichannel DSP and crossovers for recreational reproduction, cheap.

In this case I like the RME OG Hammerfall Digiface ability to expand via ADAT.
There is an apparently proprietary cable to connect that Digiface to a PC (usually laptops) Cardbus / PCMCIA card, and I have not been able find one.
I would alternatively be interested in buying a Card + cable from someone who kept them together.
And/or the PCI version, WITH THE CABLE.
I believe there never was a PCIe card for that unit?
Of course the Digiface USB would be 10x better, I've not found used instances I can afford.
