For me, soundstage differences are one of the most important aspects of a headphone or IEM, yet many people report being unable to tell the difference between sets. I wonder if spatial abilities play a central role in creating the psychoacoustic phenomena of perceiving a stage of different sizes when listening to music.
I feel that music occupies a three-dimensional space with shapes and colours, and since I have very developed spatial skills, I wonder if they are related and if training spatial skills can improve the perception of soundstage and music.
Cambridge has a battery of tests that are scientifically based and reliable. Would you be willing to try them and share your punctuation and the nature of your perception of soundstage?
