Currently using tidal app on iPhone 6s -> apple camera adapter -> usb cable -> topping E30 or D90 dac* ->preamp -> amp -> speakers. The iPhone 6s needs to be replaced with a newer iPhone. I have read comments that the newer iPhones audio out quality is lacking compared to iPhone 6s.

Since I will bypass the phone's dac with the lightning to USB adapter will there be any audio quality difference with a new vs. older iPhone model?

Please let's avoid the android vs. apple rabbit hole.

*the topping E30 is recognized no problem; with the D90 the iPhone has an error message that the connected device lacks sufficient power. A usb hub solves this problem.

Thanks,
gad-

No, the dac will receive a pcm stream as before so it will be identical.
