Hi all,

I have a stream box s2 ultra, but for some reason my router a tp link AX11000 will not generate an ip address for it, every other device on the network is being allocated one except the s2 ultra. I am using wired LAN.

Any help appreciated.

Connect to the unit over wi-fi from your phone, then reset the static IP in the Network menu...

Install https://www.wireshark.org/ on your PC.

Connect the box directly to the PC with a cable. Open Wireshark and monitor your network interface. Start the box. If there's any incoming connection you should be able to see the IP address.

Then reconfigure your PC to be able to access the box and reset settings.

Does the IP address fall in the range of your modem?

Most TP link modems use 192.168. 0.1 or 192.168. 1.1

Press Win+R
Enter
Code:
shell:ConnectionsFolder
Open the Ethernet network adapter
Click Properties
Click Internet Protocol Version 4

Set address. Choose something that is different in the last row from the box but identical before that, for subnetmask if you don't know just enter 255.255.255.0 it will be fine.

You will loose internet connectivity by that point so remember how to get there and how the settings were before.

What is the static IP address?

If your modem is 192.168.0.1, then the normal range would be up to 192.168.0.255...

Have the dealer reset the IP address, the dealer should know better...

More than likely the problem, if it is out of range for your particular modem it will never work...

Are you sure it is 158, and not 168?
