"Major issue with my analogy? Break in time is a myth ? I never seen a bigger group of judemental, self obsorbed , insecure people in my life. GodbyeI have major issues with this analogy! As a photographer, you are the artist. You are in control of the art you create. You can use whatever you like, a toy camera or a Hasselblad.. it doesn’t matter! What matter is what the artist creates.
Audio reproduction is totally different. Here, you are not the artist. You are just the observer of the arts others people created. So like your photographs should be viewed in an environment that gets the best out of them; for instance a bright room with even lighting, neutral walls, nice spot in the wall. Likewise for audio reproduction, you want the best way to reproduce what was once recorded and mastered.
So again; In audio, you are not the artist! You are only the observer. And buying a MacIntosh amp is like plastering gold on the outside of the room where you hang your photographs. It’s might look nice, but it won’t make the photo look any better.
It seems you are so far down the audiophile rabbit hole that there seems to be no way back

adios? good luck!Godbye
Sorry I’m late to reply. It looks to me like you’re using only one of the two available inputs on your NAD. If that is the case, have you considered using a DSD capable DAC? Topping makes some that are less than $150. Others are available. Some folks have concern about long-term reliability, but it is an inexpensive way to dip your toe in the water. The other advantage is that you don’t need to switch your speakers between two different amps. The downside is that the setup wouldn’t include a Fosi. If you got the Fosi, then you wouldn’t need the NAD. Of course, the NAD is much more elegant, but it is rated at a bit less power than the Fosi, I believe. There are switches available that let you use two different amps with a single pair of speakers, but the one’s I’ve seen are rather industrial looking. Not really like the gear you have now."Major issue with my analogy? Break in time is a myth ? I never seen a bigger group of judemental, self obsorbed , insecure people in my life. Godbye
Probably not then. I use SACDs for multich recordings that I can't find elsewhere, otherwiise I wouldn't bother. It's not magic or anything. Furutech is for idiots, though. Its all good. Having said that I am not sure its the right group for me. Im not sure how I could done it differetly but I wasn't prepared for the reactions I got. Maybe I should have started with " Anybody know anything about DSD? Do you like it? Not sure the tone would have been any diferent.
Science tends to be quite judgmental - a cruel mistress for certain"Major issue with my analogy? Break in time is a myth ? I never seen a bigger group of judemental, self obsorbed , insecure people in my life. Godbye
There's ya problem...So after watching too many Paul McGowen videos...
Wel, we’re not the ones that scammed you out of probably thousands of $€£ of nonsense products. And then we’re the bad guys for pointing it out?"Major issue with my analogy? Break in time is a myth ? I never seen a bigger group of judemental, self obsorbed , insecure people in my life. Godbye
Yes, all of that! This kind of shit is maddening, quite frankly. It’s exactly the nonsense that this website was created for; to counter the marketing bullshit this industry has been peddling for decades with logic, reasoning and science. This means you don't have to take my word for it. There is loads to find on the topics already discussed right here on the forum, from blind tests, to studies, papers, reviews, and subject-matter experts in various fields such as electronics, physics, biology, and psychology.Like this ?
