I don't know why Crosstalk is like that @1kHz. I can provide files if someone wants to investigate.
Looks like a large pop.
 
It looks like your files are made incorrectly - under 240p, V15-III-L-TRS1007, why is the right channel pilot tone occurring at the same time as the sweep in the left channel?

EDIT - you included the 1k pilot tone and that shouldn't be there. Also the channels weren't swapped for the right channel plot file.

somewhat cryptic but 1 means both files will be plotted relative to the firsts file (0 file LEFT), so that file 0 (left presumably ) will be plotted at 0db at 1000 hz, if file 1 (right has lower level at 1000hz- the red line will be below..0db... The channel difference will show up as a deviation of the red and blue line at 1khz


Just use File0norm=1

The Shure V15 III, era 4 body and V15V in original form, all used laminated pole pieces which gave a flatter response (like the slit pole Ortofon 'Super' bodies). later on, Shure changed the body to the standard more dated type (V15XMR and I think, the VST-V) which downtilted the response a bit with a subjective 'warmth' rather than dullness as Rega's UK made MM's usually have.

There was a chap on VE who is/was an ex-Shure engineer. He pondered the possibility of resurrecting some of the better designs but sadly, nothing ever came from this. No idea why Shure just walked away from this side as there are thousands of cartridges out there needed decent replacement styli

No means of measuring it, but I have a '6S skeletal body with aftermarket N91-ED stylus fitted (not sold as such but visually that's what it is). Lower compliance than the original,the moving magnet behind the 'hinge' is cylindrical rather than 'diamond shaped' in profile tracking is 1.75g if sibilance is to be avoided but the diamond itself is a delightful elliptical shape (I think it's naked too but need to check as it's some years since I last used it).

You know, the AT 540 and especially 740 are so good and well priced I think it's not a bad idea to consider an upgrade to these? I'm also a fan of the Ortofon 2M Bronze as it's so good in a Rega RB arm and the shape even matches the headshell profile ;)

Curious to hear what you find better about the 740 vs the 540...

 
I know the 120E and 440MLa, but less so the replacements. The German Lowbeats site has measurements and soundbites of these two AT models and it seems the mount is the only real difference (same stylus used in both), th ebody internals rather 'posher' than the VM95 body. The 540 is a lively thing very much like its predecessor but maybe tamed a touch sonically but the 740 seems a touch more 'restrained,' the metal mount I suspect not going to set less rigid tonearms off up top I suspect and the measured responses are in fact slightly different (i thought I could hear this in the soundbites too). the responses of each are slightly different (top model Rega tonearm used in I think a Planar 9). Lowbeats don't seem to measure much if at all any more, but up to this point, they were a good source of objective and fair subjective reviews too I thought. Text is in German but readable if translated :)
