Introducing DSPi | A powerful, user friendly and open source DSP for less than a cup of coffee

So it look's like we now have a small "lobby" group for input selection and volume control (with IR remote, if in any way possible) :)
If it's in the roadmap i'm ready to wait or support it in any way I can!

i can appreciate the use case where auto-select input would be handy, but i think active selection with an IR sensor would be more useful. if for some reason i had multiple sources powered up and streaming to DSPi, i would prefer managing my chosen input through means other than turning off other sources so that auto-select was left with the desired stream.

It seems that a mob is amassing, so I have no choice but to capitulate. :P

as long as we’re capitulating…
i’d like to request the ability to select a specific input rather than just cycling through all the ones that are available…
We now have both remote control support and direct source selection among numerous other new nouns. :)

Haha, thanks a lot! I know I really pushed for that (as well as crossover filtering or master volume) a few months back... and I notice you took good note of it all!
But there are still a few little things missing—like a "compressor," for instance (we talked about that here)—and maybe a matrix update...

In any case, it can't be said enough: you're doing a fantastic job with this project!

If "compressors" coming, please put Limiter on the list for driver / speaker protection
I guess maximum voltage only applies to a DAC device so that's downstream

but maximum volume percentage cap

Would that be per output channel, or just Master?

I agree with the desire for an output-related compressor-limiter. Thanks again to Weeb for the excellent development work and the outrageous number of options available. And let's not forget, all this on an affordable and widely available device.

Output compressors and limiters are in the pipeline but I'm afraid they will have to wait until more of the core functionality is complete.

I have just updated Volume Leveller with multichannel support. It scales with the number of configured output channels and enables the user to choose which are metered and which are acted upon by the leveller. This introduces some new use cases such as increasing dialog intelligibility for multichannel TV and movies.

Three presets are provided for common configurations.
