Hey!

I currently own a Wiim Ultra paired with 2 mono blocks from IOTAVX PA3, driving my Silver 100 G7. The Ultra serves as both a preamp and streamer. I'm satisfied with the setup but it would be nice to try something different. Looking at integrated amps like used Cambridge CXA81 or Arcam SA20 paired with a streamer like Bluesound Nano. Or should I try an all in one combo like the Marantz M1 or Yamaha R-N800?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Have you used the room correction and are you happy with your speakers and/or subwoofer? The hobby is about accurate music playback not endless gear procurement. Best improvements come from better speakers and DSP.

Welcome to ASR,

You have a capable set-up - especially with the ability of the WiiM Ultra to apply room correction and parametric EQ. I don't believe I would perceive a positive difference moving to one of the combinations you are considering.

Yes PP23 stated it a friendlier way. Welcome. The Yamaha brings a lot of connectivity and that is nice.

Try updating your acumen with the purchase of a measurement microphone and some REW software (free), then make measurements of system and room. You can make that current system sound very good with those and the Wiim then maybe then think about improvements or just enjoy not spending much $$$. There many threads on improving your system and also many helpful members. Sorry about my flippant post.

Thanks for good and fast feedback. I'm more than happy whit my Silver 100, they produce an engaging and room filling sound in my 20 square meters. They have lots of grunts in the base region, but maybe an sub will add even more. I know that the Wiim has EQ, have used it with the phone but know that it's not an accurate method. Heard of the Umik microphone, I thought that the Ultra wasn't compatible with Umik and Rew software. But if it was, I'm not sure I have the knowledge to work with EQ curves.
Thanks again

WiiM has a guide to using an external microphone

Ah great. Thanks. Will definitely try that. And the measurements from Umik mic and Rew software is adjusted automatic?

Yes, but the software is room correction software from WiiM, not REW. It is my impression many WiiM owners are satisfied using a UMIK-1 microphone with the WiiM room correction software - now branded 'RoomFit' by WiiM.

Your WiiM Ultra with 2 class A/B PA monoblocks (2x100W@8ohm) should sound nice.

I would try to add a subwoofer or change the speakers if you want something different.
