and the onkyo clone 790e under 700 probably time to time ..
I guess we could take for granted that both units are similar if not identical, performance-wise.

old product show minor change between the 2 brand , integra a little better , some component .. but now .....

dont forget there is firmware too ....

I am surprised this 'class' of stereo receiver from Integra/Onkyo and including the DRA-900H/Cinema 70S from Denon/Marantz does not offer the 'option' of applying room correction. I do not know what such a feature would add to their cost.

Thanks for reviewing something from Integra! A few receivers ago, I owned an Integra 7.8 HT Receiver. It was "fine" but never felt like I got great sound out of it - almost certainly I was not doing a good job setting it up (e.g. bass management, room correction, etc).

However, the thing ran seriously hot. I had to laugh when I saw the IR camera temperature graphic, as that is my biggest association with the brand.

As a product, it feels more complicated than I need sitting in a rack somewhere, yet less capable than what I'd want driving a main system. Call me crazy, but the Wiim Ultra + a good amplifier seems like a better proposition for functionality and sound quality.

Adorama is currently offering a new sample of the Integra DRX 3.4 with a paid license for Dirac Live, preamplifier outputs for all channels and a 5 year warranty for $699 - via a link courtesy of Slickdeals. The Integra DRX 3.4 could be used strictly as a preamplifier and the 12 volt trigger output of the Integra DRX 3.4 could signal an external stereo amplifier like the Fosi Audio ZA3 to automatically power up or down.

I've had an original DTM-7 for almost 7 years, it's been a champ. Got it refurb for $450 from AC4L when I downsized to stereo and it sounds really good driving my Canton Chrono 502.2s which aren't very efficient (85 dB IIRC). It's not perfect, the UI has some quirks and it gets noisy when I really push it but that's only happened by accident, at all my normal listening volumes it's been great. I wouldn't pay retail price for one and because Integra is targeted at CI/home integrators you won't typically find the same kinds of deals as you would on Onkyo or Pioneer. They still show up on AC4L for a song though, there's a DRX-3.4 (pre outs, dirac) for $700 right now.

I picked it because I was looking at a bunch of fairly demanding speakers at the time and didn't want to worry about the amp section of a comparatively priced AVR not handling the load. It did generate some heat when I was using it for full range, since I added a subwoofer it barely gets warm now.

It does seem a bit over priced to me. A 2.1 for anywhere near $900 should be darn near perfect. If it was a full on AVR I could easily cut them some slack. Maybe I'm too picky?

300 e avr new , you have name ?
I dunno about $300, but there's plenty available at the $400 mark:

JBL MA310
Denon AVR-S570BT
Onkyo TX-SR3100

'Course, given what we frequently see from measurements of $1000+ AVRs, who knows what those low-end models do. Probably not that much worse than the Integra 7.4, though, asides from max power output.

One thing to remember about the price is that reliable HDMI 2.1 switches are very expensive, ThenAudio, HDFury or home installer ones are $300+. If you’re someone like me who has more devices than inputs on your TV it makes a bit more sense.

Not bad, but not great.

To me the biggest competition and what I bought, was a few year old used Yamaha Aventage near top of the line for a good bit less.

Room correction, Parametric EQ, surround and a dozen other things.....:)

I saw the Sony 590 last month for about 320 (without atmos), in July 2 others from Yamaha and Pioneer, I don't remember the exact references, I should have written them down, 299 each, one of the 2 had atmos.

The receiver and AVR industry has been coasting for a long time. Even the aesthetics are dated and boring. I wish someone would do the impossible and build a great one. We have game changing small volume, class D amps that would be a great fit. Need one inspired company...

you need more 2/4 on tv and the same in avr ? 300 E is not a problem
