Not a big fan of Audyssey but I would be in the minority. I think the consensus is that Dirac has overshot the capabilities of even Audyssey MultEQ-X w/ART.

I’m going to be selling my 8.4 too. Got a deal on an HTP-1 so I could play with ART.

When I bought the 8.4 I had expected it to get ART after CES this year (I expected an ART announcement along with the new models). FML I guess. It’s otherwise a great bit of kit.

Nice! The HTP-1 should have the channel count and slight Dirac license advantage (DL included) over the just announced AV30 that's going for about the same retail price!

I also bought it used so it’s a significant price difference. Under $3k all in with ART. It will be a long time before we see a DENON or Marantz model that’s competitive with that. Excepting deals on the 4800/3800 if you’re willing to compromise on dac performance (I’m not, it *bugs me* even though I know it shouldn’t).

I have the 3800 and the unexpected SINAD performance hasn't bothered me one bit!

I will be the first to admit that I’m being ridiculous about this.

I also wanted xlr outputs since I’m running Yamaha PC2002 and Crown K1 Amps.

Wow! That's a steal!! I paid 2x that for a new one about 3 year ago.

Try selling it to TMR audio and you'll get that $1750 easily, they can probably sell it for $2200 easy peasy..
I just got an email back that they do not want it. They only do two channel audio products. so no go.

Dirac is very over rated IMHO! ART sounds even more gimmicky.. DLBC is where I will stop pushing my luck with dirac. Having said that, Integra drx 8.4 is a beast and very well made.. couldn't be more happier with it.
Neither DLBC nor ART are gimmicks. There are countless measurements showing both work really well. DLBC makes proper traditional subwoofer integration easy to accomplish. ART is something entirely different all together and is exponentially more effective and making a system sound better. I think the measurements and comments regarding it are hard to dismiss, IMO.

You might be better off trying to sell your DRX 8.4 in an Integra or Onkyo specific forum. The fanbase there may be more inclined to pay more...

Decent placement, multiple subwoofers, may be a bit of treatments. I have been one of the earliest adapters of Dirac for 2ch stereo.. and I still use Dirac/DLBC for HT. I know that it can make a difference whenever one gets it right but many see ART as the next best thing in audio after stereo.
small room acoustics is chaotic...
