reading the Bandcamp Praise thread reminded me to search my local library...

It has over 15,000 CDs - the popn. in my town is 170,000.

I can't get everything I want to borrow from the library, but sometimes I can get what I need. I find it very useful to see if I want to buy music, esp. in an area I'm not that familiar with.

I use the library a lot to borrow discs also :D but, sometimes the discs would have really bad scratches on them which annoyingly reads as errors/glitches on playback.

I treat them with a scratch filler designed for car finishes. If that doesn't work I let the library know and they run the disc thru a polisher.

I can't get everything I want to borrow from the library,
Many libraries have an interlibrary loan system where things (my wife used it for books and VHS tapes in her Media Specialist career) can be borrowed from other libraries. Ask the circulation desk. Here we pay a flat $1.00 fee I believe.

In praise of the local library, got me thinking. :) The library and my mother were the foundation of my education. ...I suppose the last time I saw the library was sometime in the 1980s.
