Maybe I'm wrong. I swore we had something for noobs that could be linked.a FAQ? I know there's a (closed) 8 page thread about one, but I can't seem to find the actual FAQ, and it's not linked in the header or footer afaict
we have terms & rules (linked in the footer), but it's bare bonesMaybe I'm wrong. I swore we had something for noobs that could be linked.

FAQs are part of Forum Suggestion subtopic. Had just mentioned to Amir that I it could use more exposure in the forum UI.

The same goes for the other policies, e.g. don't post ai unless you know where it's wrong etc, I don't see how it's obvious to newbies that these policies exist, and you cannot blame people for not following rules they didn't know about.
I don't see the additional and evolving policies I mentioned in the terms and policies, or any hint they exist. Same for the faq.Not sure how registration was back in 2017, but the last part of the dialog does require you to confirm that you read the Terms and Policies. So there is no denying that they should know the policies at the time of registration AND can be revisited via a link in the bottom right of the forum UI as well as the end of my every post I make.

Also good "recommended reading" (not only) for newcomers is IMHO this thread:FAQs are part of Forum Suggestion subtopic. Had just mentioned to Amir that I it could use more exposure in the forum UI.

How about a permanent banner on top of each page with something to the affect of "you can not hear anything that is not measurable" or other better worded fact about audibility.
The membership diversity here is what has made this forum considerably more vibrant than essentially all of the Xenforo- (etc.) based, old-school "forums" that are slowly but surely dying in the age of other modes of online social interaction.
Since the thread's meant to be constructive, I guess the constructive corollary would be encourage diversity and actual discussion (as opposed to regurgitation of dogma).![]()
