It was general comment referring to calling out @Artcore87 post a few pages back. Healthy discussion is just being basically respectful in my view.
OK, so now I have to ask you to define "respectful" :)

Hahaha probably easier to look at that post I mentioned and say not parts of that
It might have been deleted?

Indeed; my dad’s system is based on a pair of LRS+ driven by IOM Ultra (NC252MP). It is amazing the instantaneous transition when your ears clear the top of the speakers!

Hi Edd, if you ever got around to driving your dad's LRS+ with a pair of PA200's I would love get your impressions in comparison to the Hypex NC252MP.

I’m new here but in my first couple of months my experience is I’ve seen plenty of snarky replies (attacks) if you post anything that goes against the ‘ASR dogma.’
SINAD measurements and double blind testing or else - Get in line!

I for one, love to read members subjective impressions and what they are hearing. That balances things and makes the forum more welcoming and is great feedback. Just my 2 cents and now back to the regularly scheduled program.

I’ll check if he’s interested…but he is super duper happy with the Hypex and rightfully so!

On a side note: I for the life of me can’t figure out the rankings in some cases.
I know they are based on SINAD but in the example of amplifiers - I’ve seen a review of an amp near the top of the blue area that gets only the ‘fine panther’ (like hypex ncx500) and then an amp in the middle of the green area get the ‘golfing panther’ (douk audio)? In must be missing something.

I know Amir says he does not significantly factor pricing, so I can say that is not it. What it is, I’m not sure. Frankly, I think the real value is not in Amir’s recommendation/rating per se, but just seeing the test results and making up our own minds about its performance and value.

After all, there are unmeasured things that matter like looks and feature set, as well as ergonomics/ease of use and convenience.

‘ASR dogma.’
SINAD measurements
About 5% of the measurement set. So, nothing even vaguely like dogma.

double blind testing
Not dogma, just basic controls. If you can't hear it without peeking, you can't hear it. If you can hear it without peeking, you can hear it.

I think someone needs to get Sluggo in here.

/Rant on:

Oh, please. Are you sure this isn’t just because you feel a bit insulted that things didn’t align with what you once considered established knowledge
Consider, too, the endless stream of repetitive, basic questions from people who clearly haven’t spent even five minutes searching for answers. If you have an audio-related question, chances are 90% of the answers are already out there with a simple forum search and some reading. That should be the first step before demanding to be treated with kindness and respect -like a customer at a diner who expects everything to be served just by pointing at the menu and calling the waiter.

When someone acts entitled like that, I assume a few things:
  • They don’t respect the knowledgeable contributors here.
  • They lack the perspective to imagine what it’s like to be an experienced, long-time technical user on ASR. (Empathy might not be the perfect word, but it’s something along those lines.)
  • They’re impatient.
  • If their post is filled with subjective takes, they also lack situational awareness.
People reveal a lot about themselves through their actions. Don’t be that person. It’s not a good look. Show some respect for the community, the site’s purpose, and at least make an effort before flooding the boards with the same old questions.

Do that, and you’ll find that you’re treated better in return.
That´s my experience.

/Rant off.

Thank you, I hope that you do not mind me responding/replying?

It could be suggested that this repeatable conclusion/test is relevant (and objectively needs to be)....
  • Am I being 'helpful' or Am I being 'hindering' (to other people, especially to the one who asked)?
To be able to apply this Test it will require Context/Relationship/Topology with a focus on your Intent/Desire.
  • For Example (to be Precise), is your intent/desire to Inform/Warn/Assist, being applyed with Respect and appropriate Relationship/Context/Topology, for the Situation/Event/Discussion.... the above Test then follows where if you can answer Yes (ok to Proceed), If you can answer No (do not Proceed), and if you cannot answer Yes or No (do not Proceed, wait and ponder until you can answer Yes or No).
  • Just as, 'a Note is just a Note without its Harmonics', to answer the Test with Yes or No, cannot be (thoughtfully) elaborated without intent/desire, Respect, Relationship/Context/Topology, can it?
  • Note that the initial intent/desire defines the Respect and Relationship/Context/Topology that will be utilised, doesn't it?
As you have asked and I have I posted/responded to you, I need to ask this of myself (firstly) and you, wouldn't we?....
  • I hope you find this suggestion and definition of respectful, helpful and not hindering :=)

I see quite a few golfing panther V3 owners looking for an upgrade ( not that convinced after all?) It looks like this GAN amplifier is a nice alternative. But this topic is hard to read with all the non owners oppinions. Can someone just state that he doesn't agree with the op ( that's ok too) and the rest like his post without the aftermath?

When you say ""non-owner opinions"... that don't agree with the op", are you referring to the objective statements that disagree with the OP's subjective opinions?

I do, and I understand that it's difficult to not express that statement, but the OP is not selling this product, just opiniating his experience. It's fine to counteract that opinion but then the discussion goes on to " define respectfull" as if we're in some sort of philosophy communion? What am I reading here?
