I figured out a way for people to test the audibility of ultrasonics (controlling for IMD)

That's misinformation. There have only been a few replication attempts and results are mixed.

We have this short paper which may have found something but nothing particularly convincing:

So far i have only found 2 decent quality independent replication attempts (with regard to brain activity) and seems like neither bothered to minimize the impact of IMD by playing the ultrasonics from a different speaker:

How is it misinformation?
Oohashi's results have not been reproduced. Attempts were made. Attempting and reproducing are different.

Here if what one of the studies i linked found with regarrd to brain activity

This is similar to what Oohash got with his original study.

Great, they measured some brain activity. Which of course was done because they knew none of the participants would be able to detect or describe any actual difference.

They did ask the listeners directly as well

I did quite a few tests on myself when I was younger but in the end very few instruments have any output in the top octave anyway so whether reproducing inaudible frequencies produces some minimal effect is moot, since there won't be any ona music recording anyway.

Yes I know, I did read through it. That doesn't show anything meaningful, near as I can tell.

There are some stuff there that might be worthwhile trying to replicate since it could also be statistical noise rather than anything real (even with p = 0.005).
