Base on the comments here, it seems silly but who cares? The only person that matter is you, and if it sounds good to you, awesome.
Wether is damaging the equipment, well it in entirely up to you. To me the 305 is cheap audio, just play with it.

it's a superb curve. should be very neutral in most rooms

I use a complicated process where I align all the peaks of the no smoothing graph to a flat line, but when my corrected curve is smoothed to var it is not far from the Tool curve.
