I am a convert. Goodbye snake oil!

I can't believe I went down the rabbit hole so far. Glad to be back in the sane world.
Welcome back Alice!

Childlike imagination and creativity are important ingredients of the adult human experience. The music itself brings Wonderland into our lives. Folding the music into recordings is another layer of creativity and interpretation and skill that transports the Wonderland of music into our homes while attempting to compensate for the absence of musicians and the limitations of technology.

The addition of a third layer of interpretation in the playback technology is not necessarily invalid, but it is also not necessary at all, and is actually unhelpful to the implied aim of hearing what was created, intact. What's really unhelpful, though, is for purveyors in the reproduction market to deceive buyers that they have found ways to magically recover more of 'what was created' than can be achieved through transparency.

cheers

I have my doubts...
It will be the usual smoke and mirrors. Most likely talking about real differences between cables, but differences that don't have any audible impact at human audible frequencies at all.

EDIT - look in the comments - it seems some of the cables tested are embarrassinlgy inadequate with half an ohm (or more) of resistance. No one has ever said you can use hair thin copper and not make an audible difference.

EDIT some more: I'm also not convinced they are measuring the cables properly - the picture on the youtube videos suggest that they are using 2 wire measurements - which are inadequate for measuring such low resistances/impedances - 4 wire measurements are required.

I can't find a link to the so called experiment. Ted Denney of Synergistic Research is bragging on Facebook about a recent experiment, that is supposed to show that cable differences are real. I have my doubts...

Recent....the articles date back to 2022.

Like Ant says, the guy is erecting straw men like "people claim all cables measure perfectly" and "people say all cables must sound the same". It's waffle.

To say that anything coming from anyone associated with Synergistic "Research" is suspect is a gross understatement. Synergistic "Research" are the guys who sell the Vibratron and other religious artifacts.

The link to the experiment is listed in the FB post. Here it is.

The comments on that FB post are sufficient to debunk the "study".
