That entire page is bullshit. And full of typos.

We believe that "Amplifiers are musical instruments," and we create sound using wood. The RSA-EX1000 uses our largest side wood (maple) and wood chassis (laminated spruce). Spruce and maple are the same combination of materials used in violins. By actively controlling the resonance of wood, we can create a rich and energetic sound.
One gem that was particularly hilarious.
 
But seriously, when Amir tested the amp with the lid open, the amp was measured worse. So shielding does a better job doesn't it?

If you're stupid enough to use a wooden case, sure.

That amplifier also uses a filthy great R-core transformer running at 50 or 60 Hz, with rectifier diodes generating 100/120 Hz output with a lot of high frquency hash.

Hypex doesn't state the switching frequency of the SMPS for the Nilai 500 but it will be very high. The standby supply on the board operates at 130 kHz. The high switching frequency means there's no interference in the audio band, so there's no need to shield stuff.

Shielding is only necessary if there's a problem without it. No point shielding for the sake of it.

You’ve got it all wrong! For example, all the additional weight conferred by those extra lumps of metal will stop the amp from being slid of the table by extra special, extra heavy weight interconnects from the boutique audio industry.
Measured electrical performance improvements? - well save your money and use it to buy the next amp up in range
 

He's selling something that makes no audible difference with claims that it does, so yes, it would be fair to say that he is also a cheat.

Did you see my earlier post? There's nothing in the FFT noise spectrum above -136 dB. How can any tweak make an audible improvement?


You'd have to listen at 136 dB SPL for that 60 Hz spike to exceed 0 dB. Do you think you'll hear the sound of a pin drop when you're clutching your ears from the pain?

Here's the gushing word salad review of the inaudible tweaks made to a VTV branded Purifi amp:


The NAD C298 to which this "review" refers was also measured by Amir and it achieved a very respectable and audibly transparent 100 dB SINAD.

For less than the cost of these "tweaks" you could buy a microphone, some software, the necessary hardware and do a pretty good room correction that would reap huge sonic benefits.

The hi-fi market is full of snake-oil peddlers and these tweaks are pure snake-oil. No more, no less.

I have done some of these modifications to my Hypex NC400s, and they have been running great for almost 4 years now.

Perhaps much to the disappointment of certain people, they do sound better than the stock product.

I'm sure this claim was made with solid data behind it, tight ears-only controls, right?

These modifications are highly suspect. In particular just check out Mod2 where components on the Purifi amp board are changed. I’m just guessing but Bruno Putzeys is probably a better engineer than the crew at EVS. Not to mention warranty issues.
As to the reviewer the final line gives the game away: overall rating 9.5 LPs.
