I'm honestly getting annoyed at your conduct. You make a claim (-5dB at 20kHz with 15m) and repeat it, don't show math when asked, and wholesale reject presented math that proves the opposite of your claim.

Substantiate your claim and/or show how mine are wrong. Until then I'm out.

You started this discussion, it's up to you to prove it. While you're at it, prove that mic cable is coaxial in construction.

I have a old Marantz 7702MKII now and 4x Xtz edge-300. I'm thinking of upgrading to a Denon AVR-X3900H because of Dirac etc. and a Hypex NCOREx NCx500 Apollon 3-Channel. They will drive Arendal Sound 1528 Monitor 8 LCR. But I'm really unsure if I should buy the Purifi 1ET9040BA instead? It costs twice as much, but as with this hobby you're afraid you're missing out on something hehe..

even if you had SOTA equipment, you would benefit more from Real Acoustic room treatments.

So would I, agreed! But most people I asked here in ASR prefered the lower power consumption of the Purifi.

UMIK 1 is no good recommendation. It has its built in ADC with its own clock. So this recording clock drifts compared to the playback clock. The effect is you get a corrupted Group Delay and will never able to to do proper group delay correction.
My recommendation: get an Audiointerface like the Focusrite Scarlet solo, a calibrated Behringer Mic. and use Acourate instead. This will provide a perfect result. Sure costs some $ but did not waste your time with useless tinkering.

Newer design. Better sinad. But, audibly better sound? Most likely not.

Distortion and noise very similar, Purifi draws less idle power (runs coolers, saves money), Hypex tons of clean power.
