Hypex NCx1000 OEM

Got this answer from Hypex: "we expect to ship the first samples in Q1 2025".
So still a long wait ahead...

Yes and no. The 1ET90BA will cope better with low impedance speakers, the NCx1000 with high impedance ones. TBH, I am a bit disappointed to see that 4R power is higher than 2R power.

People will just need to understand that the amplifier input stage now makes a significant difference on measurements with such high performance modules.

I see that the eval4 is OPA1656 based so the stock buffer is going to be the bottleneck. Room for something more refined, like a composite amp.

No more news yet about this module @Hypexsales ?
Also any ETA on updating the MP line to NCx too? Thanks.

Good practice would be to announce the product when it is about finished, say a couple of months before, to build awareness, hype, and strong initial sales.
Apparently they announce it almost 1 year ago, and no release in sight... Whatever, it will be finished when it is finished.

They always announce about 2-3 years before the actual product is available. Crazy....

They have people that have worked with Putzeys and therefore have learned the art. But they are not Putzeys…

Hypex is an OEM selling amplifier modules, and their customers are not consumers, but manufacturers of the completed amplifiers and other devices that incorporate their modules. For their customers to work the new modules into their products, they will have to go through the whole process of new product introduction, which includes developing and designing new devices that use these new modules, plan the transitioning of their existing products to the new designs, setup the entire supply and manufacturing chain for the new product and wind down the old one, market the new products, obtain regulatory compliance certifications, etc. These tasks take a minimum of many months, if not more than a year.

If they only let their customer know of their new products when everything is done with stock ready to ship, they won't be seeing any large volume purchases for many many months. Their product announcements are not aimed for us consumers.

Maybe in 2025...
I hope to get more info at Munich in one month.

Just a quick question.
The main difference between NCx500 and the NC500 amps is lower distortion and more power? You can hear no difference in sound?

Still not much news other than a 3D render picture on the website.
But rechecking specs, I think it will be the same as NCx500OEM on noise floor and THD, the only difference is tons of power. But still not as low noise floor and THD as Purifi 1ET9040BA.

From "we expect to ship the first samples in Q1 2025" to "The NCx1400 OEM is not for sale yet. However, we expect to ship it in Q4, 2026".

AFAIK the original NC500 was named after the 500W into 4 ohms. Later when it was updated with NCOREx tech the power increased to 700W into 4 ohms but they kept the name NCx500 to easily reference the former model.

Now the NCx1400 is 2 x NCx500 bridged and no need to reference a former "NC1000" model that did not exist, so it makes sense to rename it to its actual 1400W power into 4 ohms.

Is it ok to use ncx500 and ncx1400 without evaluation board but some cheaper alternative like simple pcb layout with IN/OUT connectors and gain selection.
Cant justify the price costing as amplifier itself and in that case seems better to go with Nilai.
