in the meanwhile I purchased a power amp with balanced inputs that should be delivered next week. So assuming their analysis is correct, this should resolve those issues. But the hardware noise is still a concern.
Did you receive the new amp yet and did it solve the issue with xlr? I'm really curious cause I'm in the same boat as you and no amp with xlr inputs to test.

The new power amp will probably arrive beginning of next week. I’ll report back with the results shortly after.

I just got my new power amp, connected it via XLR and tada, the noise disappeared. I am so happy I can finally focus on enjoying music again. Thx for all your suggestions and advice.

Glad to hear you got the problem resolved. It’s taken a while.

How would you rate miniDSP support?

In terms of quality 9 out of 10. They did everything within their power to help me analyze the issue and they took care of all additional shipping costs. Only thing I would have appreciated if they would have sent me an additional unit for a/b testing, which they didn’t.

What was a bit frustrating that in the beginning it took multiple days before I got a reply to my emails and this continued for 3 weeks or so. Because of that the whole process took much longer than needed.

All in all, I’m a happy miniDSP customer.

Yes, the initial slow response was strange. However, in general, miniDSP seem to have enhanced their reputation for good customer support.

I know its an old topic now, but how common is this issue for people looking to use it for subwoofers? Will it cause any issues to use the 2x4HD on a Sub causing it to play low freq sounds ? Thinking of getting one soon.
