Not for the average person out there, it's not. The people here, myself included, are not average. My logic is not flawed. I indicated that my comment was heretical, did I not?
The average person isn't likely to spend nearly a grand on speakers, particularly from an independent speaker brand. They people who purchase this will likely have conducted some modicum of research.

I cannot disagree with you on this point.

Speakers also age better than other products. To wit, my Revel Salon 2 speakers are now two decades old!
I had Klipshorns with Center LaScala for 30 years before moving up to Klipsch Pro (MWM and Jubilees), and now Danley. Technological obsolescence does not apply to speakers, since they are resistant to utility obsolescence. Look at all the JBL and Altec speakers still being enjoyed after half a century!!! Revel Salons are a great compromise for home!

If I was Hsu Research, I would not respond to this thread. They are unlikely to get the last word, regardless of the merits of their response.

And let me add, anyway how do you explain a 12 dB drop in the frequency range where the human ear is the most sensitive? You're gonna have a lot of merit explaining this. (Other than saying the sample is broken)

As a fan of the original Pink Panther cartoons, a part of me always shudders a bit when Amir summons the figurine of a decapitated panther to visually summarize a review.

A modest suggestion for @amirm,

Instead of using a headless panther, consider the gentle good humor of visually summarizing products you consider to perform 'poorly' with a 6-inch high figurine of Beetlejuice:

Perhaps Santa can be persuaded to deliver this somewhat pricey figurine. The listing touts the facial expressions can be adjusted and an optional shrunken skull is included.
I know this seems silly to some , but *anything* being decapitated might not be a good look.. the headless panther doesn't offend me, but it obviously makes one person uncomfortable...

Instead of substituting a figurine of Beetlejuice for the decapitated panther,

I will also consider a figurine of Bugs Bunny holding a sign declaring

Ain't I a stinker ?

:)

you're right, it is silly. People need to quit being so sensitive that they try to micromanage everyone else into how they think the world should be. A community is or isn't aligned with what you like and you stay or leave based on the degree. Expecting the world to change to revolve around you is lol. Also, it's rude to offer suggestions to someone to how they should change their platform to suit you better. I honestly don't understand how anyone who has ever been married or raised in a family could have so little understanding about community and how people differ and interact that this needs to be explained to them. Not attacking either of you guys I don't even know you, but c'mon we're adults here and if what I said stings then take a look at yourself not me. He's talking about Pink Panther figurines ffs.

noted: one bit of pushback: this is *our* platform.... nobody , but nobody does a web forum without posters.... peace....

To me the difference between Amir's and Audioholics measurement is to big to be explained by the measurment technique NFS vs. 9 feet high 14 ms gated free air. Even the impedance sweep is rather different. I used VituixCAD SPL Trace tool to quick an dirty digitze the data (not 100% accurate):

Even there are some similarities, to me the it looks like two different speaker versions (at least with different crossovers) had been measured, Audioholics measurement was from 2017.
It looks like Audioholics measured with the ports plugged.

I don’t think so, but the Audioholics measurement is gated, without nearfield or ground plane bass measurements.

From the review: ”accuracy is completely lost below 70 Hz and so that range should be ignored.”

Anyway, it looks like the speaker measured by Amir is the current model:

It’s out of stock. Pehaps they found the problem and recalled them?

The one measured by Audioholics is an older version with the same name (yellow cone):

Please correct me if I’m wrong. :)

The yellow cone also confused me, but its looks like the black grill seems to let it appear almost black with the grill on as Audioholics has written

"The black metal grille does temper that likeness a bit by dimming the yellow."

and can been seen by the 2 Audioholics pictures of the speaker:

The grill just seems to cover the driver and not the entire baffle.

I am uncertain there has been any change to the driver of the Hsu Research CCB-8 loudspeaker other than color.

It is my recollection, the Yellow color of the driver was polarizing - even when made 'less visible' by the Black grille cover and that Hsu Resarch soon offered the option of a Black-colored driver for the loudspeaker.

The figurine was not decapitated. It fell and broke. And so it symbolizes a broken design.

ok , I'm good with that ... lol, as I said , it doesn't "offend " me , for whatever that's worth ..

Hsu is one of the *top* independent brands among home theater enthusiasts. Among the people in that circle, no introduction is necessary. FYI, the owner purchased and *donated* both of their speakers to ASR just so that we get reliable objective information about them seeing how popular they are.

Yes, that's true, and I'm really curious why it hasn't been measured all these years.I know it's hard and all, but a lot of people would like to see measurements,I sourly wood if that is my speaker just for curiosity like what I been listening for so many years.
Is that end game speaker for you Armim?

I wonder whether an AsciLab loudspeaker will measure well enough to displace the Revel Salon2 loudspeakers in Amir's 'music' system.

IF so, then maybe there will be an opportunity for Amir (with help) to hoist a 146 pound Salon2 onto the Klippel NFS for measurement. :)

Damn I forget they were that heavy. He may need to borrow a couple of friends for that.

It is. It constantly exceeds my expectations.
As it should. It's like when I listen to my Danley Sound Labs SH-50's properly room EQ'd after room treatments. Full horn dynamics for 130 db drum peaks flat from 18-1800 Hz. with my tapped horn sub and using all of the Chinese amplifiers you recommended. Micro Detail of headphones with dynamic, butt shaking bass, when program calls for it. 2.2 rules!
