How's your audio sound via a KVM switch?

I am planning to get this 8k kvm for my dual PC setup (https://www.avaccess.com/products/8ksw21-kvm/). I work on an iMac and watch movies/play games on another PC. One thing to worry about is I am not sure how the 3.5mm audio port performs. Would you trust it on a kvm or intermediary device like this? Do you have any amazing experience with a USB headphone and couldn't help recommending it?

I would trust it to perform about the same as these devices that Amir has already measured:

I have a TESmart KVM. My experience may be different than the model you are looking at. But:

Aside from audio performance, the 3.5mm jack will typically not be controlled by your mac volume slider, unless you have extra software like say SoundSource. Not sure if the PC will be able to control the volume.
As to the USB-out from the KVM ... in my experience, that gets tricky with the mac's sleep functionality. I.e. that USB sometimes remains "asleep" even after the mac woke up, and the USB device may not be detected by the mac.

I've ended up bypassing the KVM for sound, and have a DAC with one computer fed via USB, and the other via optical.
