How to use apo equalizer easily.

Hello,

I have an HD800S. I learned about the apo equalizer software only now.

Before that I had put an EQ in Jriver. But with APO I understand nothing ^^.

Is it possible to only make presets or copy paste?

Whether the preamp or EQ volume is much lower. Do you know where I can find other EQ in this simple form to add to try several?

If it eq something in it has to lower the preamp. Thats how eq's work.

I did'nt understand everything. I am French. The translation didn't work too well.

I have a Topping DX7 pro.

Lets say you eq up 6dB at 50Hz then you have to lower the preamp by 6dB to not come into digital clipping. That means your overall volume is lower. You have to make louder at the topping.

Je viens de le faire. ça baisse beaucoup le volume.

Que ce soit le volume du préampli ou de l'égalisation est beaucoup plus faible. Savez-vous où je peux trouver d'autres EQ sous cette forme simple à ajouter pour en essayer plusieurs ?

What I mean precisely. when I turn off the first line or the second. They both have the effect of lowering the volume.

Thank you. What made you include the second one called amir hd800s pream.txt?

In the lower left corner of Captureamir you see a peak gain of -11.7 dB. This is caused by this second .txt file. Hence the question.

All right, I see.

They’re not meant to be used together though, as your screenshot Captureamir seems to indicate. If you don’t know the purpose of the second one, I’d throw it away for now, and focus on the first one.

When you do this, you’ll see that in the lower left corner the peak gain value will be 0.0 dB or very close to that.

Could you please confirm?

By activating only the first the volume drops but much less. Which is logical.
But I didn't expect that. I didn't think that putting a preset would change the volume. I am new in this field.

I just need to turn up the volume on my Topping.

Great, thank you. I’d now like to encourage you to go to the Captureamir3 screen, and use the knob in the first line (Preamplification) to turn it all the way down up to 0 dB. Pay close attention to what happens at the bottom of the screen while you turn the knob, both in the graph and with the peak gain value. You will see in action what @tomtoo explains in post #8.

There are various sources but I’m not into EQ-ing headphones so I hope others will chime in here.
