How to pair equipment pricewise?

I look at it as matching. Start with the room, it's size and volume the distances away from the speakers for concentrated or casual/background listening in adjacent spaces. Where will the speakers be placed, on the floor, shelf, media bench as part of a home theater arrangement with a subwoofer. If its music only system then addition of DSP will be make everything sound much better and in HT DSP usually comes in an AVR. How far speakers are from the wall is important as to how much bass you get and anything rated 40-50 hz and above will require a sub for full range enjoyment. Don't forget the passive vs active in speakers, some will say integrated is better as the design is balanced and others will say passive lets you add features and power. I generally agree with others the electronics are a solved issue but there are still losers out there so diligence in those decisions is important also. Clutter, equipment count, storage, connections/wiring and partner acceptance are important factors, so integrated electronics can save space, money and make less detective work in balancing everything. Once the big picture is at its first iteration then the hunt can begin. I will say the right speakers for room size and system intent is the place focus energy and funds.

It's that old dilemma of 'the fish or the fish-hook?'.
We've done enough to corrupt his mind and his wallet.
The journey to attain musical-nirvana has always been fun and educational... and I am entitled to my own opinion!:D

The rest is up to @Bernardo_G and his own due diligence.

@Bernardo_G,
You do know that you are now committed to reveal us your decisions when you've made them.
Take your time (you don't want to end up here), because 'we' expect demand wise choices.;)
Hey @xanalog, I'm aware that pics are demanded (LOL) and thank you for your patience. It's been a hectic week, and until now I found time to post.

Here's my humble setup; not uber-expensive, not uber-cheap either. It's what some snobs would call a Mid-Fi setup, but for me it's good enough. Please y'all feel free to comment/bash/praise, etc.

Speakers - JBL L82 Classic Mk1 - $2,500
Preamp - Ladder Bach - $900
Power Amp - LSA Warp 1 - $1,100
Turntable - Pro-Ject Debut Carbon - $1,100 (after all mods)
DAC - Schiit Modi+ - $130
Streamer - Primare MP5 Prisma MK2 - $600
Phono Preamp - Vincent Audio PHO-300 - $500
CD Player/Transport - TEAC PD-301-X - $350
Headphone Amp - Schiit Magni Heretic - $120
Misc. (cables, conditioner, power supplies, speaker stands) - $1,720

Total so far... $9,020

Sometimes I feel GAS but my mind and wallet remind me constantly that what I've got is good enough.

As far as cables go... I'm a believer in quality cables, but I'm not into uber-stupid cables, so WBC are a big part of my choices, plus a bit of a guilty pleasure with Wireworld Stratus for preamp, power amp and phono stage:

I'm not very knowledgeable, but have been hearing that you should get the best speakers you can afford, and then find an amp that power them with headroom.

It seems that the message is clear... prioritize speakers!!

BTW, here's an updated picture of my system. I changed the DAC to an Ladder Czerny R2R (yes, it sounds different than my old Schiit Modi+) and a different headphone amp:

Regarding speakers... what would be your best recommendation within the $4K to $5K range?? Could be either floor-standing or bookshelf.

Kef reference 5 Meta: € 15000
Fosi p4 preamp: € 87
Topping dx3 pro+: € 150
Htpc with Qobuz optical to the Topping.

No need for expensive equipment. Perfect sound here. Speakers are important.

You should invest the most in speakers. Thats what I did. Long time saving (just a humble employee) and yes a big investment. The Kef R Meta is also a very nice speaker.

The electronic equipment I use costs peanuts. Measures good and sound good.

For example (The components were purchased at different times and I don’t remember the prices very well, approximately for present time)
Flex Eight ~600
V3 (stereo 3 pcs, mono 2 pcs) ~500
a pair of 24" fiberglass waveguides ~600(?)
4*18"+2*15"+2*coax CD ~less (or more:rolleyes:) than 3000
cheap and dirty boxes and wire are conditionally free - several hundred were spent on the first ones and tens on the second ones.

BTW, loudspeakers (speaker systems) contain speaker drivers. For example, pair of Wharfedale Elysian 4 (10000 retail) contains speaker drivers with a retail price of 700. Or Unison Research Max 2 (10000\pair retail also) - speaker drivers with a retail price of 1400 and WGs 140\pair. JBL SUB18 for $4000 consists of quite heavy black box with holes and nice JBL 2269H driver for $1000+. And so on..
