I take it that you know about the larger Grimani Rixos speaker already reviewed here?

yes, i have seen that and listened to Grimani.
I don’t know much about Meyer or listened to it. I have heard they sound great.

Both are considered as active speakers.

I assume you are considering these systems for your home theater? I am using the Meyer Sound Ultra X-20s for my LCR speakers. I chose them because of their compact size and unlimited (for home use) headroom. I couldn't be happier. My room is fairly compact at 13' by 20' with an 8' ceiling.

I am not familiar with the Grimani system, but know of them by reputation. I am sure you could be very happy with either system.

One of the nice features of the Meyer speakers is that they use a 1U remote LV power supply for up to 8 channels so wiring is very convenient with a single LV cable carrying balanced audio and power to each speaker allowing your rack to be quite compact as well.

I've no experience with Grimani, or the X-20 model. Do have experience with larger Meyer rigs, like X-40 / UPA-1p and up.
Can't go wrong with Meyer imo, if the price works.
Personally though, if I needed digital connect, AVB would push me away from the X-20. If XLR (which is fine for me), no problem.

At risk of veering off course...I'd take the time to audition Theory Professional if I was shopping for class boxes you have in mind.
I've heard several prosound installers whose assessments I trust, talk rather excitedly about good they sound. https://www.theoryprofessional.com/
I'm trying to hear them when an install I can visit comes up.

I'm curious, @Mr. Widget what are you using for surrounds? MM-4XP or UP-4slim? Both are not using compression drivers. Or HMS to match tweeters? Or something entirely different?

For the projects that I design for clients where they have fabric walls to conceal the speakers and room treatment, I will often use the UP-4slims or even something larger, but for my home system where the room is fairly small even though the MM-4XPs are a compromise, I have been very satisfied with them.

Thank you. That's interesting. Most installations I've seen stick to the product range Acheron/HMS and if X20/40 are used in the front it's usually X20/UP-4slim/MM-4XP as surrounds. I've yet to see an installation with X20/40 as LCR and HMS as surrounds. That's why I asked. At least with European pricing, the HMS are much cheaper than any of the others, except the MM-4XP.

That speaker type grouping is very similar to D&B with the V and Y range together with the 44S vs. E-series systems. For some reason, people never mix these (or at least I've never seen it). But D&B for home theater is even more exotic than Meyer.
