What is the proper procedure for measuring the absorption coefficient of an acoustic panel? I've been making DIY panels for a bit, but just broad band velocity traps made from either fiberglass or rockwool insulation. I want to start making tuned bass traps, Helmholtz and membrane traps. But there the construction is a lot more finicky. You can use math to calculate what the coefficient should be, but small errors in construction can throw off the target frequency and Q value. I want to be able to do a measurement to verify and possible adjust the panels construction. But I've never been able to find a proper procedure on line. Everything you find just talks about full room measurements.
