How to loop jriver MC into RME Fireface using ASIO?

Very interesting concept - does not solve my problem, however, as it shows exactly the same behaviour as the original RME ASIO driver.

I tried both. It does not work with jriver MC.

I think the ASIO input function in jriver MC is just broken. A shame, as the software otherwise is really good.

There are no issues when using RME Madiface ASIO driver as input and output with the free software Cantabile Lite.

This is clearly false as it works fine in my experience but certainly it's not compatible with the rme driver

Well, jriver MC ASIO live input works with some drivers, however, not with RME ASIO Madiface driver.
My RME ASIO driver works with other software (Acourate, Cantabile, Audacity), but not with jriver MC ASIO live input.
So there is a not so small chance that jriver is broken...
It could as well be RME of course, however given their expertise I just doubt that.

Maybe @MC_RME can comment on this topic.

My point is that jriver is not broken in general, it's just not compatible with rme in multiclient mode

As I mentioned earlier, JRiver's ASIO input works with other brands of interface. And: RME's ASIO output works with other software. But somehow, the combination of JRiver and RME does not work. It's going to be either JRiver or RME's problem. Unfortunately, neither are willing to address it.

If you MUST use JRiver, sell your RME and get a Motu. As for me, I have no such limitation, I am keeping my RME and ditching JRiver. I have had enough of them.

The problem is more an inconvenience at this point, so I definitely will not sell my RME gear because of that.

And this is really not satisfactory.
As RMEs driver is working fine with other - professional - software, my guess is (and it's really just a guess) that more likely jriver MC is the root cause of the problem. It is not understandable that through so many releases this issue was not sorted out by the development team.

I can understand. You have much nicer RME gear than me It's RME's fault that I won't have to buy a new one. My old RME is so bulletproof and solid, and it works flawlessly with all the latest drivers - there is no reason to replace it. It's one of my best purchases, like my father-in-law's 60 year old Mercedes that is still chugging along.

No, of course not

It's just unusual in my experience that Americans are NOT hands-on and pro-active in solving issues. We Germans on the other hand are famous for being "complicated" and for discussing weeks and weeks before starting any corrective action ;-)

Ok, Cantabile Lite doesn't work with Dirac ART plugin. 2 ch in, 4 ch out. Have to look for another solution...
