Doing PAS as a grad student taught me a lot about microphones and low noise measurement. It's a very cool technique.

I connected the solar cells to a pre-amp instead of directly to headphones. Doing it indoors the first thing you hear is hum. All your incandescent lights were of course working on 60 hz power. So you get 60 hz hum.
