How to link an optical out to the KH750 sub digitally, optical to aes bnc

Speakers included I assume?
Yes, the KH750 applies DSP to both itself and its outputs to the main speakers.

This is mostly automated with Neumann's MA1 software, though manual tweaking is possible.

I am about to buy the wire but apparently there are different types of bnc plugs an SDI and a video version?

The cable I want to buy can only take the sdi version of this.

The BNC plug on my KH750 look like the Video In plug

That's why I said to pay attention to gender and impedance. You need 75-ohm male BNC plug.
I guess the manufacturer of the cable i was going to buy had it wrong, the manufacturer is stating its a 75 ohm bnc but shows that it only connects with 50 ohm bnc

Ok update I managed to get the cable and spdif to toslink converter. I am not sure if the converter is working correctly as it will occasionally drop the sound (like it suddenly becomes soft then returns back to normal). Has anyone running the kh750 with digital coaxial in experience this problem? I read somewhere that people using kh120 II seem to have this problem as well. I am in the process of returning the converter for another one thats a bit more expensive if that doesn't work I will likely get a wiim pro.

So far when the converter is working the sound is so much better than my topping EX5 or Scarlett 2i2. I doubt I will ever use another dac again if I can solve the sound drop outs. Mids are less muddy, and voices are brought forward. I wish I had gone digital immediately after I had gotten the kh750.
For sound control on the mac I am using Proxy audio device, basically its a virtual sound device for the mac that you can control the sound with, the only problem if you sleep the mac the proxy audio device will lose connection with the output sound device otherwise it works great as a volume control.

This is the converter I got. Pretty much a generic Chinese version.

I do not notice any problems of this kind at all, with any sample rate from 44.1 to 192 kHz (mostly using 48 kHz since this is the native SR of the KH 750 DSP).

What converter are you using?

A bit of an interesting update, so I have always prevented my mac from going to sleep

So when I turned off this option off in the mac power options, the kh750 did not redetect the coaxial input when the computer came out of sleep. I had to restart the kh750 to get the sound to properly come on from the aes3(bnc) digital input, the xlr inputs however were just fine. Am I right to guess the rest of you who are running the digital solutions for the KH750 have dac's that you don't turn off or your system never sleeps?

I am beginning to realise this isn't as cheap a solution that I had envisioned. I think I would need to at least buy a Wiim pro to properly do the conversion and having digital volume control and even then I don't know if I would be happy with it. I have heard that the coaxial coming out from it isn't that good and needs to be reclocked by buying a SMSL PO100 which would be like 60-80 USD more . So this digital solution is beginning to look a lot less appealing to me. The other option is to get the RME ADI-2 Pro FS R BE that Unplugged has, that should be a full proof solution but that is way above my budget and my country no longer stocks RME products. So basically I can't buy a cheap generic toslink to coaxial converter because the quality isn't there; I think this maybe have to do with jitter / clock / etc, I am sure one of you probably knows the real reason.

Basically for the price you need to pay to get a fully functional digital solution I think I could get a much cheaper analog solution coupled with small issues here and there that are problems like the automatic sleeping requiring a restart of the KH750. A shame I wanted to get KH120iis and connect them thru digital to the kh750 at the end of the year but I guess I am going to skip that options and stick with the KH80s. I think my best bet is to get a good enough dac, since the kh750 is rumoured to be using AKM chip (https://gearspace.com/board/high-end/1258394-neumann-kh-750-read-before-you-buy-5.html) maybe getting a AKM dac like the Topping e70 velvet would be good enough to mimic the KH750's dac, which I quite enjoy when there were no sound drops.

What is your current configuration? As others have mentioned, an SMSL Pro 100 (if it allows for volume control via your Mac) is an option.

I am aiming to get my toslink from my monitor converted to an aes3 digital signal to be used as input in the KH750. I could go PO100 but that would remove the ability for me to use the toslink from my monitor. The reason why I want to use the toslink is because I can channel from all sources like consoles, pcs, video players etc directly to my KH750. I am not sure if the SMSL PO100 has digital volume control on the mac.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s something odd about the monitor for this purpose. Effectively, the monitor is your USB to digital adapter for your computer.

How are you connecting multiple devices?

Basically the PC monitor is functioning like a TV with hdmi input and toslink out. Before my Topping EX5 broke, I was passing all audio input from the displayports and hdmis into the EX5's toslink input . This was incredibly convenient.
