When I started in broadcast engineering a half century ago, the building had 1 control room, 2 studios, 2 AM transmitters & 2 FM transmitters (including backups). The entire complex was cable laced, inside the racks it was rather impressive. Then along can stereo FM, with lots of added unlaced cables.

Although I've always just gone with zip ties and cable combs... a few of my overclocking buddies have been doing that with their builds over the past few years. Despite pretty bad OCD, I've just never felt the time vs result was really worth it - looks pretty cool though if you're patient.

The one place where I would love to see it done more is in automotive applications (under dash wiring in particular) - that way even if they weren't fully restrained, they would be far less likely to make noise due to chassis vibration. Not to mention it is far less likely to damage the wires - which is why NASA uses it as well as every other aerospace company AFAIK.

Zip ties are cheap and fast... so if cable replacement is cheap and your time is valuable at all... I'd say other methods are better for home audio. Still, it does definitely look higher end - and you can get on cableporn too if you take a picture.

Single-use ties are a pain if anything changes. Velcro and twist ties save time and waste, so that's my preference.

Monoprice sells 290M wire spools for <$10, in a variety of colors. That's a lifetime supply for home use, and you'll always have the length you need.
