How to best EQ Headphones on the go? e.g with iPhone

I notice that on a some of the headphone reviews, certain headphones are only recommended with certain EQ settings. I know it is fairly straight forward to EQ using software in Windows. However for "on the go" listening e.g when using Bose QC35 II on the go with an iPhone - is it possible/practical to EQ to the level recommended in Amir's reviews for "on the go" listening? I know Spotify has built in equaliser on iPhone - would this be sufficient for equalisation or is it too basic to adjust to the level of detail indicated in Amirs reviews generally?

I looked at the equaliser on the Spotify iPhone app recently and was disappointed that the y-axis isn't labelled with db values. I felt annoyed and just left it flat. :)

Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, there is no way to implement system-wide EQ on an iPhone without jailbreaking it.

Remember for $110 you could get a Qudelix 5k. PEQ solved - for any HP!:)

PS- not Apple here. Qudelix 'does' work with ios? Or not? :(

Thanks Qudelix looks promising, also on a side note potentially better than Fiio BTR5 for amplifying wired headphones. I wonder if it will be able to run Aeon RT Closed Headphone

I found running my HE400i single ended while not bad, didn't leave enough headroom for loud orchestral classics. Switching to Balanced was much better -plenty of Headroom (twice the voltage, 4x the power).

Run your Aeon Balanced..but the 13ohm impedance and inefficiency of the Aeon might be a bit much. If so, you can always run the Qudelix thru a $100 Heresy etc. then Aeon..

'Neutron Music Player' is the only PEQ-capable app for iOS.
Plus, they recently (on Feb 16) got an update, so you can use any of AutoEQ's +5000 presets. (source)

'Boom Music Player' supports either 8-band or 16-band GEQ profiles only. (source)
It doesnt support PEQ profiles.

Alternatively, a US$100 PEQ-capable hardware solution that works best is...

Roon will let you create parametric EQ and stream to your iPhone. I do that at home sometimes. No remote play though (come on Roon, get with the times already :p).

Dan Clark mentioned in the Aeon RT thread that 230mw was plenty to drive the Aeon RT at reasonable listening levels.

This Neutron Music Player allows to load presets like SoundSource on a MAC? Is it possible to combine it with streaming from Qobuz? Is it easy and straightforward to use?
Oratory mentions the Capriccio Pro Player, is this also an alternative?
