Should look for a newer thread to post, but my thoughts,
Why does it seem so few people have sat in a movie theater and been impressed by how natural, how good, the sound is? Or been in a luxury car and been impressed with the audio? (I never had any exposure to audio enthusiasts before I started pursuing better sound)
I wonder how frequent it is that interest in improving sound is lost when people spend a decent bit of money and are disappointed, maybe having this happen more than once. Audio is a lot trickier than screens, than the visual, don't we have worse memory for it, isn't it a lot easier to fool oneself with audio? I wonder how much being disappointed and recognizing difficulty in figuring out getting to good sound at a reasonable price is responsible for the lack of interest.
