Assume:

0) 2 - channel, stereo loudspeakers.
1) This is for your main system or your singular go-to happy place for musical enjoyment.
2) You have your wife/partner's full buy in, so you won't hear a word from her.
3) Within the budget that you feel you're willing spend.
4) Brand new, I know some people will never ever buy new, but today you're gonna spoil yourself.
5) You are not paying MSRP, the deal is probably the best deal you'll ever find for this speaker.
6) The price range in the selection is the actual price you will pay after the amazing discount. For the pair.
7) Space is no issue. Noise to neighbors is no issue.
8) This is probably the final speaker purchase for this kind of money you are willing to drop.
9) You don't have to worry about any other components in your audio stack, assuming you already have the amplification and everything else to drive these speakers.
10) No, you are not allowed to buy parts for DIY
11) They can be passive or active.
12) If they are bookshelves, the price includes the stand. Price does not include any other accessories.

If you think the poll is flaw or not applicable to you, you still can participate by commenting.

I'm cheap n' cheerful yet entirely content with what I have - they'll do till I pop my clogs (trainers.....), my current speakers (dynaudio lyd 48) are the most expensive I've owned and I don't have that sort of money in the bank to buy anything different even if I wanted to

As to “able to spend” - I’ve just checked my account and my £330.46 will not go far and that’s got to last me till my benefits are deposited next Friday, I really shouldn’t have bought the kiwi ears hbb punch iem last week but it was in the linsoul sales at a must buy price

Should be each, especially for us multich fans :) What about sub budget?

(FWIW my post was based on the OP, not his first addition of rules :) ).
Then, it's gonna cost you! :D

I listen to an awful lot of music in different rooms as well as enjoy movies etc.....tv not so much. My gear is audio based more than video in any case.....
There aren't that many multi-channel music. And I don't believe there's any on streaming. So are you listening to the same tracks over and over again?

I have a good sized multich collection (SACD, DVD, Bluray) plus there's upmixing. Little streaming available and don't even look for it. I just don't find particular value in mere 2ch setup particularly just bookshelves without a sub and bass management, digital, eq, etc.

Upmixing from a 2 channel to multi-channel?!?! How does that work, how does any computer and algorithm today know to take a sine, isolate the vocal and throw it into the center channel? Amongst all the other channels?

Eh, don't answer this, drifting off topic.

Yes, it does. Having the best is always more costly than the mediocre. ;)

Seriously? You really should do your homework before posting.
There's thousands and thousand of discrete multich recordings, I personally have around 500 in my library
Apple, Amazon, Tidal, and Youtube stream multich.

The Von Schweikert VR-5 Anniversary speakers I own were $27,000 when new in 2008; I purchased them several years ago for $5,000. I would not spend more for any speaker. The VR-5s will probably be my son's someday.

What so odd about this poll?
Well, why do you care what other people are willing to pay for speakers? What impact or difference does this make in your life? For me I don't see such information making one bit of difference. Maybe I'm missing a bigger picture.

For the record, I voted before even posing the question.

Same reason why is there an UFO thread and a "what are you listening to" thread here. Why would anyone care about what other people think about UFO and what they are listening to?

Able and willing should IMHO be two separate answers.

I am able to spend more, but (at least for now) not willing. My main listening room is my "work from home" room, with a biggish desktop setup, powered by a pair of Neumann KH 310A (150 cm listening distance). I didn't buy their DSP sub because I don't seem to need one, using the DSP in my RME DAC. Almost perfectly happy with them (apart from wishing they had auto standby).

I voted before posting. To me it’s just to see where I stand in terms of how much i am willing to spend compared to others who voted. To me it’s just for the fun of it.
