Interesting story about the song called One More Day. In the mid 2000's , he was out in L.A. visiting a guy that worked at ABC Family, which makes this story even weirder. So he lands and the guy takes Jon to a Porn Star Karaoke. One thing to note is that Jon's played over 6,000 gigs in the D.C. area - I did about 1,000 duos with him. Mainly cover tunes since that's what you do and what the club owners want.
His friend convinces him to enter. He kills it. So they invite him on the show that they do about news in the porn industry. You can watch an edited version here:
There's a bit of nudity, but not beyond Facebook's standards (at least for now). Near the end he sings the one song to the "toughest" porn star (according to the host's comments that I had to edit out).
I recall recording the fretless on it - he came in while we were in mixdown, said he just wrote this song that gotta go on. So he cuts this - guit and vox all at once; one take. So we listen to it, he asks me to put bass on it. I don't really remember doing it - not 'cause of drugs or booze, it's just after a while you do stuff and move on to the next hurdle. And leave enough room to let the [insert deity here] walk thru as Quincy Jones mentions in George Martin's book "Making Music" .
There's some other stuff on that ajawamnet FB link. In just 3 days we cut 16 more tunes, some of which are already up there. What you hear is pretty much how it went down in the initial tracking. No Autotune - I recall Dave Hentchel (Elton John, Genesis) hearing Jon and mentioning, "... and he sings in tune!"
