How do you usually store your headphones?

On the floor in the corner of my PC room, not particularly glamorous! I don't leave them clamped onto anything as I don't want to compress the pads or loosen the headbands. I try to arrange the earpads so they just lightly touch at the bottom so that critical areas of the pads do not get deformed. I think I just counted 10 units of headphone from just 5 different models (I've got 4 units of K702, 3 units of HD560s, 1 unit of HE4XX, 1 unit of NAD HP50 & 1 unit of HD600). I've noticed the pads on the NAD HP50 have cracked & dilapidated recently even though I haven't worn it in the last year really (quite strange). How do you store yours?

In a dry cabinet fixed 40-45% humid level, my country has 80% average humidity. Really bad for electronics as opened as this.

I toss them in/on the pile of clutter near my PC. Barely enough to not drop. They are Aeon 2 Noire, Z7M2, He400se and Nan-7. I just don't have space for stands.

Hanging from cheap magnetic utility hooks I got at Hardware Sales.

The main criteria, cord management to prevent tripping or catching on my chair.

The pads and headband break down because of human-oil, not from hanging.
These Beyerdynamic have been hanging for three or four years. The DT990 that they replaced had been hanging for ages before them. The pads broke down because of being worn on my head, not from hanging.

The best part is, headphone manufacturers seem to realize the pads wear out from normal use and you can get replacements. The headbands are cheap, so no reason to go and spend much on a headband-saving hanger, especially when your hair is going to do the majority of the degradation. And the earpads are also cheap, and dramatically affect the sound and comfort, so I often buy a a particular favorite. But I don't worry about the hangers causing dents in my pads!

I diligently put them on headphone holder thingies but when I'm sleeping they all assemble on my desk in a heap with their cables all tangled.

Usually on the desk-mount hangers, but sometimes on the headphone tree.

The AKG K601s hang on a cheap plastic stand from Amazon. The LCD-2s live in the Audeze smoofy box they came in.

I bought an aluminium stand from Monoprice for $10, now triple the price, which I now use to hang my rubber gloves next to the kitchen sink.

I dislike the dust that headphones gather when they are left out.

When I had headphones and headphone stands, they are great for pride of ownership and staring at them on the desk when not in use. After a while it gets old, and the headphones are collecting dust and UV for nothing. Then I stored them in a bag in a closet, makes much more sense.
