What AI do you use to get a video transcript and an accurate and detailed summary of the text?
I spent an afternoon uploading blocks of text to ChatGPT but it crashes, mixes them up, gets the order wrong.
It's stressful.

Msty Studio with Sidecar makes this a piece of cake using an online model (e.g GPT 4 or Gemini). Still in beta but looking very promising ...

The existing Msty app can do it too. I think Gemini 2.5 or Qwen (if you prefer a local model) are best for summaries.

Audio forum posts than try and force you to watch a YouTube video to get the point the OP is too lazy to make are already bad enough. I’m now seeing people copy-pasting ChatGPT GPU-melting AI slop summaries of YouTube videos as if that’s an improvement.

It’s going to get bad. Don’t be part of it.

English is not my language: there are videos on various topics that interest me and do not necessarily involve audio.
If they are short I put subtitles, if they are long having a summary would not be bad.
I am looking for the simplest solution to this problem of mine.

I'm not set to English, but if you click on "Show more" under the YouTube video, there should be a script below.

Then it will appear like this.
Copy the entire script and paste it into your notepad first.
I'm not sure how long the video is, and it may vary depending on the AI, but if you provide too much content at once, it might not be able to process it properly.
If the script is about 10 to 20 pages when made into a PDF, you can send that PDF directly to GPT.
That much should be enough for a summary.
If the script exceeds about 20 pages as a PDF, try splitting the PDF and sending it in parts.

Alternatively, could you share the link to the YouTube video you're currently trying to summarize or organize?
If it's a private video, please send the link via PM.
I'll try converting it into a PDF and have my GPT summarize it.

One video is this but I can't find the command for transcription:

Leo AI in Brave browser can do it with one click
