How best to configure new amp and sub?

I recently got an amp and passive speakers for to improve my computer's audio. This is what I have now:

Speakers: Dayton Audio MK402X
Amplifier: Douk Audio A5
Subwoofer: Kanto Sub6 (6" sealed powered sub, chosen on the grounds that I already owned it)

This is already the best sound that's ever come from my computer, but I'd like to measure and EQ them to improve it further. But before seriously trying to do that, I presumably should set the available adjustments on the devices themselves, which are:
  • Amp high pass filter: Can be set from 30 Hz to 200 Hz, or can be disabled entirely. I've confirmed with REW measurements that this affects the regular speakers but does not affect the subwoofer.
  • Sub crossover: Can be set from 40 Hz to 120 Hz
  • Sub phase: Can be set to 0 or 180 degrees
  • Sub level/volume
I can probably figure out how to set the sub volume (use whatever level lends itself well to EQ), but I don't know what to do for the other three. How should I figure out what to set those to?

Sadly, mostly trial and error.

Usually, with a central DSP handling crosover duties, you can at least set a single crossover frequency for both high-pass and low-pass, but with those duties split across two devices which are unlikely to be using the same filter slope and definition, even that goes out the window.

This leaves you with an archaic Change, Measure, Compare, Repeat method.

Sounds tedious? Yeah that's in part why DIrac can charge hundreds for their automated solutions.

I don't mind going through the trial-and-error process, but what should I look for in the measurements to know whether a change makes it better or worse?

(As a totally unrelated aside, thanks for posting your preferred EQ for the 7Hz Zero:2s a couple of years ago. I've been using it for a while now, and it sounds great.)

Looking at the speaker's response and taking a chance that both crossovers use 2nd order slopes (a good guess) I would set both crossovers to 120 Hz and the phase to 180 degrees. Then take MMM measurements with REW to adjust the volume of the sub to get a smooth transition between sub and main. Then try some different phase settings and see how it affects "dips" in the RTA, you are looking to minimize dips with this exercise as the peaks will be fixed with DSP but the dips can't. If you get nowhere with this i.e. response is a mess in crossover area, then you are going to have to do a lot of trial and error.
