House of Dynamite is a movie from director Kathryn Bigelow with many notable films ASR participants can look up.

The movie traces about 19 minutes three times in a 1 hour 52 minute run time. It is dialog heavy. Capturing the actor dialog was clean.

It is the story of a fictional missile attack on the US and the pre-planned response. It is told in part 1 from the view of the early warning and the Situation Room, part 2 from STRATCOM, the military group, and part 3 from the president.

The intent in the sound design from interviews was to have density in sound in part 1. Then that evolved to more minimal and open in part 3.

The soundtrack is on streaming. I listened on Apple, sure it is on others.

When I saw the movie, I was focused on the dialog and shots, I was completely unaware of the music. Listening to the soundtrack on streaming, it focused on advancing the audience connection to the scene with very short instrumental passages. Now I need to go back and listen to the scores of Bigelow's other movies.

The movie is on Netflix.

I am very familiar with the topic and was briefly in Afghanistan as a civilian in the era of the director's movie Hurt Locker.

I do not believe the movie is politically partisan. I thought a lot before posting on ASR avoiding politics, and I agree on that ASR should avoid politics. The intent of my post is not to have a discussion of nuclear war on ASR. My intent, which was the film maker's intent, was to have people see the movie and discuss it in person among friends.
