Horizontal Bi-amplification: thoughts?

Great points... & it so happens I watched this video review last night (from Absolute Sound):

This intergrated amp has one interesting feature: "High Bias switch lets you select warm, detailed Class-A-like performance at low volumes with automatic switching to AB for full power"

Thoughts?
Don't believe everything you see in the internet.

Of course not... but "Absolute Sound" is a reputable HiFi audio publication (& youtube channel)... Advance Paris is also a well regarded manufacturer (so far), I doubt they would make-up BS about the specs of their amps.

Neither of these things are arguably true. Advance Paris is a rebrand of an older failed high-end brand. It failed mainly due to very poor quality products. It seems this new version does a bit better, but reputable? Maybe.. what does that even mean? As to Absolute Sound: it’s just an other subjectivist outlet. They don’t rely on objective data, and their goal is to satisfy their advertisers by shilling for them. You are the product, not the customer!

didn't know about Advance Paris as sort of a "rehash" brand. Out of several HiFi Audio youtube channels that I regularly watch, Absolute Sound seemed to be on the "authentic" side, unlike the others who are pretty obvious about their "shilling"... guess we can't trust any youtube reviewers nowadays, huh? If that's the case, that's kind of a letdown for the hobby.

Yep, but there are exceptions, like Erin's Audio Corner. And ASR, of course ;)

Yep, I follow Erin... honest to goodness reviews! Audioholics (Gene & Shane), British Audiophile are great too... as well as those ones who do factory tours.

You can not trust ANYBODY who does not back up their assertions with hard, repeatable data! Imagine if TAS reviewed vacuum cleaners and the entire review consisted of flowery prose about how "it lifted dirt" and "I can see my floor again". And no testing by spilling a certain weight of flour on the ground and seeing how many % it picks up on one pass. As far as i'm concerned, TAS is a publication of ill-repute and impossible claims, no different to astrology. That is why we are all so frustrated here on ASR, our hobby has been almost entirely taken over by the subjectivist woo-woo press and newcomers are constantly being deceived.

My bi-amped system has 4 equal power output amp channels in one chassis, so I can name it vertical or horizontal bi-amped, but it doesn't really make any difference with performance. If I had two 2 channel amps with meters, I would go horizontal for the displays.

that's interesting, care to share details of your hardware & setup?

UPDATE: after so many tweaks & adjustments (both physical & dsp), then acquiring a new calibration mic for better accuracy (Eversolo EM-01), here are my new measurement graphs... let me know what you guys think(?)

For the SPL chart to be meaningful, you better narrow it to 50dB as all the charts we post here.
Also use "all SPL" or the "Overlays" tab for L/R comparisons.
Way easier to interpret.
oh right on... here it is:

Haven't read the thread but this results show way overcorrection (peaks at least) up until 500Hz and most importantly reduced level to all this range.
I would either low the rest 500Hz to 20kHz at least 5dB or up the low section, whatever suits better.

This chart sounds thin even visually, and the 170-200Hz broad dip does not help either.

This allows its high-bias architecture to stay firmly anchored inside its ultra-clean, low-distortion pure Class-A window,
Your a little over invested in class A. Theres a boat load of class D and class A/B amps that are ultra clean and arnt room heaters.

If you really want to know if this works, start by converting one speaker and than compare the 2. Theres a good chance in a blind test you wont hear any difference.

yeah about the dips, nothing I can do about it no matter what adjustments i do, it's there (room issue).

I don't have any correction/DSP done on 450hz-20Khz... only 20-450hz has EQ correction applied

it's actually an A/B amp (320watts@4ohms), with A-bias if not exceeding at 30watts... at least that's what the manufacturer claims.

Runs really darn cool too, even if pushed... I don't play super loud though, it's a small (& cluttered) listening room

I'm also bothered by the nulls caused by my camera, but with Bi-Amp active I managed to sweeten the sound.
Here's a bunch of measurements without filters, before putting the DSP in the system.

That dips are pretty narrow and, luckily, you will overhear them.
